Our History

Duo Qitayes was formed in 2011 in The Hague (The Netherlands) by Rocío Campos and Víctor Landeira with the intention of making known the little explored repertoire for clarinet and guitar from the 18th century to the present. As a result of this interest, in the programs of their concerts coincide romantic authors such as Joseph Küffner or Ferdinand Rebay with contemporary authors, among them Josep Soler, Libby Larsen or Laura Vega.
For Qitayes it is a priority to increase the corpus of works for their training, with special attention to Spanish and Latin American creation. That is why they have commissioned several works from composers such as Daniel Roca, Leo Brouwer, Igor Maia or Mateo Soto. In 2024 their discographic work “Première” was published, which gives an overview of this work.
Qitayes has taken its music to different parts of Spain, offering concerts with different formats and themes adapted to different audiences and occasions. They have collaborated with entities such as FAIC (Federation of Iberian Associations of Composers), PROMUSCAN (Association for the Promotion of Music in the Canary Islands), ADEC (Association for the Study and Development of the Clarinet), University of Seville, Teatro Auditorio “José Luis Perales” of Cuenca, Mapfre Guanarteme Foundation and Casa de Galicia in Madrid.
In Belo Horizonte, Dúo Qitayes were invited as guest artists and premiered several works written for them by the students of the composition class of PhD professor Igor L. Maia.
